Byrd holds three shot lead at the AT&T Classic

Jonathan Byrd shot another 66 to take a three shot lead heading into the weekend at the AT&T Classic at TPC Sugarloaf in Georgia.

Byrd only made one bogey in the second round, on the par-5 sixth hole, and dropped seven birdies on the day. He leads Kenny Perry and Ryan Palmer are in second after shooting rounds of 69 each. Charles Howell III, David Toms and Parker McLachlin are in third at eight-under for the tournament.

Outside of the top five golfers, the field is going to have to go low in the third round to make things interesting. Moving day could see defending champion Zach Johnson make his climb into contention. He currently sits in 10th place at five-under, seven shots back. Others to watch are Stewart Cink, John Rollins and Bubba Watson. All have some work to do but could put themselves into the mix with solid rounds.

Rains wash out Sybase Classic

Trying to keep an even level of play, the LPGA declared the second round of the Sybase Classic at Upper Montclair Country Club in New Jersey a washout. The tournament will be reduced to 54-holes and any scores that were under way will be negated. Round two will start tomorrow with the final round on Sunday.

The rare move has not been called since 2005 at the Michelob Ultra Open.

Annika Sorenstam, Rachel Hetherington and Song-Hee Kim are the leaders at five-under par.
